Moving quite often as a child, I spent the majority of those years in various rural areas of Virginia. I remained in the state for college, earning a BA in Literature from Old Dominion University. Then, I promptly entered the work force as a technical writer and trainer for a government contractor near Washington, D.C. Upon becoming a wife, my husband, Erick, and I settled in Northern Virginia. We raised two sons, whom I classically homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. To better equip me for this important work, I completed the CiRCE Apprenticeship Program and graduated as a Master Teacher in 2020.

Once I had finished homeschooling my own children, I moved into a more traditional, yet still classical, school setting, teaching humanities to high school students. At this point, I also began working with the CiRCE Institute, for whom I teach homeschool parents, school administrators, and classroom teachers both online, through book clubs and yearlong courses, and in-person, through workshops and conferences. Being an enthusiastic proponent of classical education and eager learner in numerous areas, I relish any opportunity to help others obtain a virtuous education for themselves.

My husband and I moved to South Carolina in 2023 where I currently teach in a university-model Christian classical school. When I am not teaching, I love to read a multitude of books at one time, revel in my two adorable grandchildren, and serve my church through missions and women’s ministries.
