Growing up in the Salinas Valley of California, in a small farming town, she gained an appreciation for the farming and ranching communities. Early on, she heard many stories from her grandmother about life, perseverance, and gratitude. These communities and stories led to her acquiring a Bachelors of Science degree in Agri-Business Marketing from Cal Poly, San Louis Obispo. Upon graduating, she worked in the banking industry where she became fascinated with the judicial field and fell in love with books and libraries. She eventually acquired her legal assistant certificate from University of San Diego and worked for a senior partner in the ethical malpractice field.
Soon after working as a legal assistant, she married and began raising her five incredible children. It was during their early years when her eyes and heart opened to see the richness of homeschooling. During the homeschooling years, she discovered classical education and has been on the journey of redeeming and building up her own education and of those around her. She is a graduate of the CiRCE Rocky Mountain Apprenticeship in 2021 where she earned her Certified Master Teaching certificate. She currently resides with her husband in the glorious state of Idaho and is homeschooling her last student; along with two puppies, and two cats who adore laying at her feet or on her books while she studies!
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that each student is born a person and made "Imago Dei" making each soul valuable in His Image; and that each student possesses souls that are worthy of seeking what is true, good, and beautiful in their studies and everyday life. My desire is to build a harmonious class where students can live out exploring the logos of each lesson and build trust while learning and practicing new skills together. As David Hicks in Norms and Nobility states, "This kind of teaching, and this kind of learning, is intrinsically personal, not analytic or abstract."
Statement of Faith
I am a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, ID and a student of Encounter Ministries. I believe in Jesus Christ, and joyfully hold to the Holy Trinity, the Apostles Creed, and the Nicene Creed. I believe that through our baptism, it is the Holy Spirit that animates and guides us all on our journey towards heaven. It is the Holy Spirit that guides me in teaching, learning, and my desire to bring His love and glory to harmonize and unify all His people.
