Lost Tools of Writing 1-2 Transition with British Literature
Writing is a skill that requires coaching and practice. This course will create a shared literary experience with British literature while allowing students to learn and hone their persuasive writing using the rhetorical tools in Lost Tools of Writing 1. Towards the end of our first semester and then through our second semester together, we will incorporate the new skills and topics of Justice into our writing.
At the end of this course, your student will have written a total of eight essays, four of which will incorporate the judicial essay topics of Justice and stasis questions. Students will have a solid grasp of the ideas behind a judicial essay and grow in discernment and judgment by thinking deeply about issues arising from the literature we will read together. At the culmination of this class, students will possess the skills and practice to allow them to take either a full year of level 2 or possibly a level 3 LTW class.
