About the course

This course will cultivate students’ musicianship and music literacy. Engagement with American folk songs will be the primary medium by which concepts and skills will be developed. Student’s should expect to finish the course with the ability to sing tunefully, read, dictate, discuss, and compose music at a proficient level. This course serves students who have never had musical training and those who have only received a brief or narrow amount of training.

Sean Bohnet Sean lives in Moscow, ID with his wife Rachel where he serves as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Idaho. He earned his B.A. in Music History from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX.
