About the course

In this course, Darren will teach students all the essential skills and mindset that he implements daily for his clients and his own company. Darren will train and mentor students in filming, editing, music, photography, composition, design, and writing. Plus, he will do it in such a way that allows for daily communication and brand building.

This course is a little different than most courses you’ll find in a classical Christian context, and that is on purpose. Recognizing how the world was changing, acclaimed filmmaker and content creator, Darren Doane, realized he had something to offer Christian young people who desire to make a career out of filmmaking and content creation. Almost two years ago, Darren realized that, “If you, your work, and abilities are not on social media, you do not exist.” In other words, Darren’s long standing career placed him in a unique position to see how social media and virtual platforms had shifted paradigms about our understanding of reality and created new and permanent venues in which the next generation will work and interact with one another. These insights led Darren to successfully change his entire business model and company structure and have greater influence than ever before.

Resting on a distinctly Christian worldview, hard work, truth, and actually finishing projects every single day, Darren believes social media is more than a means for the vain and empty narcissism often displayed on social media. Instead, social media is a tool for honing one’s rhetorical ability to be clear and winsome, while simultaneously being humbled at the amount of work it actually takes to produce quality work, daily. This course is rigorous, unbelievably rewarding, and if followed, will cultivate the kind of person who doesn’t make excuses but finishes his or her work without being precocious or prideful. In the end, the goal of this class is to train the next generation to be eloquent and truthful in social media and content creation, and to communicate to the world those things that are good, true, and beautiful.

This course is the first semester of a full-year certification course. Students completing the full-year course pay only $4000 instead of $2500 per semester and will receive in education and hands-on experience the equivalent of an undergraduate course of study, with the additional benefit of a credible portfolio of work established by working with Darren's high-profile clients.
