About the course
This course is the continuation of Music Theory, Analysis, and Composition 1.
Course Objectives:
- Music notation: Read and write music for various instruments.
- Harmony: Start developing a rich vocabulary of chords and chord progressions.
- Rhythm: Understand the different meter types, including compound meter, odd meter, and mixed meter. Explore how compositions fit in meter and play against it.
- Form: Learn about phrase structure, cadences, and the large scale architecture of music from the Western Classical tradition.
- Composition: Create original arrangements of melodies that are modelled after the arranging techniques of great composers.
- Analysis: Continue developing skills in identifying musical objects and analyzing their significance within a musical context.
- Broaden musical horizon through exposure to great music of various periods and styles.
- Engage in deeper discussion and meditation upon the theological significance of music theory and practice.

About the teacher
William Daniels
William is a pianist and teacher. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition at Florida State University, and his Master of Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Central Florida. He lives in Orlando, FL with his family.
