About the course

We will be viewing history from the first known myths, skirmishes, and battles in ancient Mesopotamia to the fall of the Roman Empire. Major recurring elements will be battle narratives, the validity of myths, warfare technology, and socio-political motives.

Course Objectives:

  1. To tell stories and enjoy them.
  2. To create a concise thread of ancient western history placing military endeavors in relation to each other.
  3. To discuss and understand the academic conversation surrounding these events.
  4. To help students retain information from lectures and reading

Gunn Wilson Gunn Wilson was classically educated and earned a B.S. in History from the University of Idaho. He lives in Moscow, ID with his wife Abigail. His interests include piano, guitar, drums, gigging, literature and the occasional good argument.
