About the course

This course is the continuation of Music Theory, Analysis, and Composition III.

Course Objectives:

  1. Musical Modeling: Obtain the major tools for modeling music in theory up through the 21st century, including chord vocabulary, musical forms, rhythmic devices, and post-tonal theory. The focus will be on recent developments since the late 19th century.
  2. Emulation: Discover and reproduce the unique style and devices of particular composers, genres, and styles.
  3. Broaden musical horizon through exposure to great music of various periods and styles.
  4. Engage in deeper discussion and meditation upon the theological significance of music theory and practice.

About the teacher

William Daniels William is a pianist and teacher. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition at Florida State University, and his Master of Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Central Florida. He lives in Orlando, FL with his family.
