Course Description
This course builds on the foundation established in Japanese 1 by focusing on Japanese verb usage and sentence formation. Students will learn how to use key verb forms such as the te-form, negative form, and past tense, enabling them to communicate more naturally in everyday situations.
The class emphasizes practical conversation, helping students express actions, make requests, and describe daily routines in Japanese. Through guided practice, students will gain confidence in forming complete sentences and engaging in simple dialogues.
In addition to conversation practice, students will continue developing their reading skills by working with selected passages from the Bible in Japanese. These readings will reinforce grammar and vocabulary while introducing meaningful and contextual language use.

- Instructor-Provided Worksheets and Readings (resource) Students enrolling in this course are expected to have completed Japanese 1 or have equivalent knowledge, including basic reading and writing of hiragana and katakana, as well as fundamental grammar and sentence structures. Course materials will include a variety of resources to support continued language development: Instructor-provided worksheets and reading materials Short reading passages and dialogues for comprehension practice Vocabulary lists and grammar guides Selected videos and audio materials to improve listening skills Students may also be encouraged to use online tools and platforms for additional practice in reading, vocabulary, and listening. All required materials will be provided by the instructor unless otherwise noted.
