Course Description

This course (together with its prequel) is designed to provide an overview of the major contributions of Western Civilization to the modern world along with an examination of comparative social structures. In this semester-long course, students will make a chronological examination of the development of major religious, economic, political, philosophical, artistic, and literary influences from the late medieval world to the 21st Century (c. 1500-2000 AD.). The historical experience of man and his cultural expressions and values are interpreted through a Christian worldview as the best means to understand the nature of man.

All texts will be supplied by the professor in PDF Form.

  5. Art and Music of the Baroque and Classical Periods

This is a dual credit course HU 2325-02 with credits granted by Faulkner University. Prerequisite: Western Tradition 1.
