How to Teach and Assess ANY Lesson

Thursday, 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM

Through 8 lessons (2 per week), you will learn how to gage your students' readiness, engage their curiosity, craft a lesson that includes examples, ensure student preparedness for an assignment, assign work that reenforces the lesson, assess progress, and include review as part of your lessons.

Course Description

You will be introduced to 8 teaching keys for planning, reviewing, assigning, and assessing lessons across curricula. We will go through examples of their application, and you will have opportunities to discuss and practice the elements we cover. PLUS, we will discuss teaching pedagogy, the three columns of learning, and student formation.

Course Requisites:
Participants can prepare for this course by watching Karate Kid, 1984, Director: John G. Avildsen, reading Simon Weil's essay, "Reflections on the Right use of School Studies with a View to the Love of God," and The Seven Laws of Teaching by John Milton Gregory But none are required!

Course Objectives:

  1. Learn about educational pedagogy
  2. Learn about lesson craft
  3. Learn about assessment types and goals
  4. Discuss examples of proper and improper assignments
  5. Practice course elements
