Koine Greek 2 prepares students to read the Greek of the New Testament and other texts from the Hellenistic era (3rd century BC onwards) fluently and enjoyably.
Using the Biblingo curriculum, students will acquire vocabulary and grammar in the context of meaningful sentences and images, alongside reading and discussing adapted passages from the New Testament which employ only the vocabulary and grammar to which students have been introduced up to that point. By the end of Greek 2, students will be reading the unadapted text of the New Testament itself. Students will develop an active knowledge of the language through writing and even speaking in Koine Greek. The goal is for students not to substitute English for the Greek, as if they were only solving a puzzle, but to read the Greek, as C. S. Lewis put it, “with no officious English word intruding.”
Koine Greek 2 is suitable for students who have learnt the indicative verb system and nouns of all three declensions, or who have learnt Greek using another curriculum and wish to improve their reading ability.
"It was so wonderful to be taught by you; I loved and really appreciated how patient and clear you were in your teaching, and being able to read parts of the Bible in the original language has been so rewarding already." —Student
