Discover the complete history of the most beloved English legend, using the version of the tale told by Roger Lancelyn Green. This course covers all of Arthur's life, from his birth to his retreat to the magical isle of Avalon.

Course Description

Discover the complete history of the most beloved English legend! Using the version of the tale told by Roger Lancelyn Green (one of C.S. Lewis' students and the person who suggested that Lewis call his books The Chronicles of Narnia), we will follow the story from Arthur's birth to his retreat to the Isle of Avalon to be healed and to await his second coming. The Arthurian saga is one of the most popular legends in the history of the world, and is woven throughout popular and literary culture. Green's version allows us to get back to the definitive form of the story in English in a way that is accessible and appropriate for middle and high school readers. Join Galahad, Gawain, Lancelot, and the other Knights of the Round Table as they defend the kingdom of Logres, fight for the honor of Camelot, and embark on the greatest quest of the ages, the quest for the Holy Grail!
