about the teacher
I hail from the state of Missouri, where I live 60 minutes from Mark Twain's hometown and 30 minutes from where Winston Churchill delivered his famous “Iron Curtain“ speech after World War II. (And my Scottish terrier is named “Winston“ to boot!) I grew up in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in broadcast journalism. I worked as a reporter and news anchor for several years until I had two daughters. I educated them at home from kindergarten through high school. After that, I worked as a teacher for a private Christian school. Later, I enrolled in the Circe Institute's Teaching Apprenticeship program and graduated from there in 2021. I have been working as an online instructor of rhetorical writing and classical literature for the past five years.
My loves are my God, my husband, my children, my stepchildren, and my grandbabies. I enjoy history, gardening, drinking black tea, hiking, and traveling. I love all things British and Irish, as well.
