About the course

Description

This junior high-level science course covers basic cell, microorganism, plant, animal, and human biology in the context of Biblical creation. When it comes to our thinking as Christians, our fundamental starting point must be firmly grounded In the beginning. For students who are beginning to explore the sciences in greater depth, this course will lay a rock solid theological and scientific foundation that can be built upon in all of their future coursework and far beyond.

The materials in this course are presented from a young-age creation perspective that assumes: 1) the creation of all things in the span of a single work week consisting of six solar days (Genesis 1; Exodus 20:11) and 2) the historicity and global significance of the creation, fall, flood, and post-Babel dispersion (Genesis 1–11).

Objectives

1) Understand the basic biological structure and function of cells, microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans.

2) Appreciate biological life from a Biblical foundation.

3) Apply one’s knowledge of biology to real-life scenarios as ethical stewards of God’s creation.
