About the course

This class will teach you the basics of Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, along with fundamental Japanese grammar. The curriculum is designed to help you acquire practical Japanese, especially useful for daily conversations.

As the class progresses, we will also incorporate Japanese conversation practice, helping you use Japanese in real-life situations. Additionally, the class aims to help you become capable of reading passages from the Bible in Japanese.

Target Audience: Beginner learners of Japanese

Curriculum:

Basics of Hiragana and Katakana

Introduction to basic Kanji

Basic Japanese grammar

Practice in daily conversation

Learning to read passages from the Bible in Japanese (studying selected Bible passages in Japanese)

About the teacher

Tomoko Sanders Tomoko was born and raised in Osaka, Japan, received her teaching credentials at KEC Japanese School, and earned a B.A in Japanese Linguistics at Osaka International College in 2007. She lives in Lynchburg, VA.
