About the course

Shalom! I am a Jewish believer and follower of Jesus, the Messiah. In this course we will have two class sessions per week, one lecture and one discussion. Students will learn about Jesus in the Old Testament and see how it relates to the New Testament. We will explore themes through reading, writing, and discussion. Students will identify Jesus in the Jewish holidays, temple, covenants, and people of the Old Testament. We will talk about evangelism to Jewish people today and better appreciate the good news of Jesus in our Old Testament.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course, students will be able to…

  1. Understand the unity of and throughout all 66 books of the Bible.
  2. Identify Jesus in the Old Testament.
  3. Explain the importance of the Old Testament for Christians today.
  4. Demonstrate how key passages from the Old Testament fit into God's plan of redemption and the good news of Jesus Christ.
  5. Explain the main idea of each book of the Old Testament and understand how it fits in the larger picture.
  6. Understand how the entire Old Testament points to Jesus the Messiah.
  7. Magnify God in a fuller, more meaningful way - “a closer walk with thee.”
