About the course

This unique beginning French course will cover the standard vocabulary, grammar, and conversational elements of a typical high school French 1 course, and will as well give you a brief overview of the history, geography, culture, and gastronomy of France. From the first day of class on, you will begin reading French through the phonetic method. The teacher’s husband, native-speaker and Pastor/former Chef Francis Foucachon, will make frequent guest appearances during Friday Recitations to support oral work, and will occasionally take you into the Foucachons’ kitchen for a French culinary adventure. The student will be expected to do homework/oral practice between classes.
