Wes Callihan

about the teacher

Wes Callihan grew up on a farm in Idaho and earned a BA in history from the University of Idaho in 1983. He has been teaching for 40 years. He has taught at Logos School, New Saint Andrews College, and the University of Idaho, all in Moscow, Idaho, as well as Veritas Academy in Lancaster, PA. He is the founder of Schola Classical Tutorials, where he taught online classes in the great books and other classical subjects for the past 26 years. He is the primary lecturer in the Old Western Culture video series published by Roman Roads Press. Wes and his wife Dani have been married for forty years and have six married children and 18 grandchildren. He enjoys reading travel books, smoking beef and pork, listening to the blues, and working with his father on their farm.

I teach explicitly as a Christian and in the light of the historic Christian faith. I affirm 1) the Nicene Creed as a faithful summary of the Christian faith, and 2) the necessity of Christian unity and love in the bond of peace as expressed in Galations 5:22-23 and throughout I John.
