about the teacher
My father was in the White House Press Corps during the Kennedy-Johnson Administrations so I grew up with a love of history and politics from my front row seat! Prior to teaching I was a news anchor for an NBC affiliate in New Mexico, and a Marketing Coordinator for the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer team in Denver. I’ve lived in eighteen states and a foreign country. Having such a diverse background has given me a profound love of, and for, my country and the extraordinary people it encompasses! Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is about MINDSET: M - Mistakes we learn from; I - Improve through hard work; N - Never give up; D - Determine to succeed; S - Success comes from emotional and spiritual self-reflection; E - Effort, nothing is achieved without it; T - Train the brain!
My input determines the students output! Teaching goes beyond the classroom experience. Have I conveyed to them, “I BELIEVE IN YOU?!,” do they understand that I care about them as individuals in and out of class, and am cheering for their success?
My goal is to make a difference. As Henry Brooks Adams once said, “Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell where their influence stops.”
Statment of Faith
I believe in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son our Heavenly Father sent to save us that we might have eternal life. I am nothing without my deep and profound faith. The Holy Bible is mankind’s best instruction manual! Favorite Scripture: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” ~Hebrews 11:1~
