about the teacher
I grew up in a Christian home and was baptized in the Evangelical Free Church. The Lord gave me a fascination with his word that lead me to Wheaton College and Graduate School to give focused attention to the Word. It was there that my obsession with the literary sophistication of the biblical text was kindled. After graduate school I taught for three years at a Christian High School teaching Freshman and Seniors. There I taught and designed the curriculum for Bible Survey and Christian Worldview. I left teaching and moved into marketing, graphic, and web design but never left my love for the Word. Wanting to teach more people about the literary beauty of the scriptures I started a YouTube channel called The Bible is Art to produces video essays explaining the literary artistry of the Bible.
Teaching Philosophy
St. Augustine, echoing Scripture, said that there are two cities founded on two loves: love of God and the love of self. Education is the formation and furtherance of the former love. And the primary action of this education is to develop this love through the study of the things of the highest truth, beauty, and goodness.
Statement of Faith
I affirm the great ecumenical creeds as well as the Westminster Confession of Faith.
