Rev. Ben Alexander
about the teacher
Pastor Alexander has packed a U-Haul at least NINE times. He has SEVEN souls in his family, FIVE children to be exact. Ben has run THREE marathons and he wants you to know that he has only ONE amazing wife. He trained for the ministry at Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky, and through Greyfriar’s Hall in Moscow, Idaho. Ordained in 2010, Ben has served both as a senior and associate pastor in Washington and California. He loves history, literature, good stories, people and most of all, the Scriptures.
By day, Ben loves to study while listening to Thomas Tallis. By late afternoon, you’ll find him throwing a baseball under the oak tree in his backyard with his children.
Teaching Philosophy
For some time now, I have been convinced of the importance of a Christian education for all Christians. Jesus’ lordship is all-encompassing and so every Christian’s worldview should be conscientiously Christian. I echo the motto which says, “All of Christ, for all of life.”
Jesus is King and we are to think God’s thoughts after Him. Colossians 2:3 says, “ in (Him) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge,” and we should teach all disciplines in light of that glorious truth. (in lumine tuo videbimus lumen) … “in your light, we see light.”
Statement of Faith
By God’s grace I was born in a loving Christian home. God revealed His Son in me at a young age. I was stirred deeply under faithful gospel preaching growing up and desired to train for formal ministry at 18. I attended Boyce College in 1998 and was married by my sophomore year! Jesus Christ is my chief joy and passion. My beautiful wife Jana and myself have five children and we all love God and each other. By His grace we are a very tight knit family, and we’re a family that loves learning and education. We love all that is truly Christian and desire to be in fellowship with all Christians. We are thankful to be part of the evangelical and reformed branch of God's holy catholic Church. We are members of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Testimonials
>Ben has an infectious joy and enthusiasm. Not only does he love the subject he teaches, but more importantly, he loves his students and desires more for them than a mere acquisition of facts or knowledge. He longs to impart the same love of learning that he himself possesses. That kind of serious, yet joyful and personal, education is greatly needed in our day. - Lance Vermillion, Grammar School Principal, Regents Academy
