about the teacher
I live in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania and work as a private tutor. I am immensely passionate about education and have been in this field since 2013 when I began tutoring during college. Since then, I've worked with students of all ages, grade levels, and educational backgrounds.
I graduated summa cum laude from Albright College in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in English and philosophy as well as a minor in Classical Studies. I am now working on my M.A. in Humanities at Faulkner University.
I come from a big family with wonderful parents who emphasized and encouraged faith and education. When I'm not working or studying, I am an avid reader, an amateur chef, and a total gym rat. My favorite things are working out, coffee, and literature. I am incredibly family and faith-centered and I value honesty, hard work, and integrity.
Teaching Philosophy
My educational philosophy seeks to merge quality and affordability. I hope to provide an extremely high quality source of education to as many students/families as possible, and my goal is to teach and inspire students by offering a personalized academic experience. Though my main objectives are high-quality grades and overall academic success, I hope I can also encourage a lifelong love of learning and an appreciation for the amazing experiences that intellectual growth has to offer.
My teaching philosophy is centered around the written word. I believe that reading comprehension is the secret to all learning. If you are able to understand critically what you have read, all the knowledge in the world is at your fingertips. Fact-based teaching is mere memorization, but the true art of learning lies in the ability to link ideas together.
Statement of Faith
I am a Reformed Presbyterian which means that I believe in a Presbyterian form of church government and that I hold to the principles of the Protestant Reformation and to the Westminster Confession of Faith. I believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that God created the world perfect and out of nothing and that after man's fall into sin, He sent His Son Jesus to earth to die on the cross to save His people from their sins.
I hold to the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed; I believe in two sacraments - baptism and the Lord's Supper; I believe in the inerrancy and infallibility of the Holy Scriptures. I believe in the reading and exposition of God's Word as the central focus of worship along with the singing of the Psalms of David without the aid of musical instruments.
