About the course
This course is a seminar-based, conversational approach to practical theology and philosophy. Essentially, it is a chance to talk about all the sorts of topics teachers and students want to talk about during class, but don't usually have time for.
In the spirit of the academy, each class will begin with a planned question, then allow lots of room to float theories or explore other ideas. All discussions will be founded on a biblical worldview.
Here are a few example questions:
- Is it sinful to be depressed?
- Are the Marvel movies losing the golden touch, and why?
- Does extreme violence or nudity ever belong in art?
- Do fairies exist?
- Who is the better philosopher, Plato or Aristotle?
- Did Adam have a belly button, and does it even matter?
- Can science and religion be reconciled?
There are no texts to purchase for this course, although the instructor may provide PDFs of very short readings to facilitate conversations.
