About the course

Course Description:Technology deeply impacts society. This course will use Great Books selections to expose the student to key ideas and issues in the history and philosophy of technology. Readings may include, but are not limited to works from The Bible, Bradbury, Postman, Aeschylus, Bacon, Petroski, Lewis, and Berry. The course will conform to a Paideia model of Classical education with a mini-lecture in every unit, academic coaching, and live seminar each week.
Course Objectives: The student will be able to:  Understand how the increasing dependency on technology shapes the social order.1.
Examine the radical consequences of technology in regards to politics, art, education, intelligence, and truth.1.
Identify the proper place of technology within a society.1.
Explore a kingdom response to technological advancements.1.

Dr. Robert Woods Dr. Woods has been a Classical Christian educator for nearly 20 years. He has a B.A. in biblical studies and ministry from Point University, an M.A. in religious studies from Barry University, and a Ph.D. in humanities from Florida State University.
