About the course

This Introduction to SketchUp is intended for anyone who desires to create beautiful, 3-D drawings of anything!

In this course the student will learn:

  • How to configure the SketchUp environment: creating your own keyboard shortcuts, mouse setup

  • Drawing Tools: Rectangle Tool, Line Tool, Circle Tool, Polygon Tool, Arc Tool … and more

  • Modify Tools: Push/Pull, Offset, Follow Me
  • Move Tools: Move, Rotate, Scale
  • Construction Tools: Tape Measure and guides, Protractor, Axes
  • Solid Tools: Intersect, Outer Shell, Split, Subtract, Trim, Union
  • Views: Orbit, Hand, Zoom, Zoom Window, Zoom Extents
  • How to work with Groups and Components
  • ... and more!

Objectives

The student will learn the tools, and begin to gain the skills and understand the methodology to model anything in SketchUp 3D modeling system.
