French 3
About the course
This course builds on the foundations and skills of French 1 and 2. As a new course, there will be opportunity for teacher and students together to choose the topics for study and navigate the direction of learning. I hope to expand the linguistic skills of each French student, as well as expand their knowledge and awareness of the French-speaking world. At the same time, this course seeks to significantly improve communicative fluency (especially speaking), and use the fascinating context of language learning to practise applying and discerning the Biblical worldview.
Course Objectives
- Develop each of the language skills towards a B1-B2 (on the CEFR framework) proficiency level in the French language.
- Improve confidence and competency with reading and listening at near-native speed of various texts and audio in the French language.
- Increase knowledge of French vocabulary. Practise and accelerate cognitive retrieval/application of these words and phrases in conversation (structured and spontaneous) and writing assignments.
- Deepen passion for the French language and an awareness of the Francophone cultures, histories, -cuisines, etc. - wherever possible from a Biblical worldview.
Texts
Various texts will be created/sourced, depending on student proficiency and interest, as well as the wider topics that we (as a class) choose to study together.
