About the course

Come read Shakespeare for fun as we enjoy three of Shakespeare’s Comedies. This course is designed for those who want extra exposure to Shakespeare’s works to improve comprehension as well as for those who love the Bard, and want a chance to reread for fun. Class time will be spent reading the text aloud and discussing its themes and possible interpretations. To receive dual credit, two papers and an oral examination are required.

Course Objectives

    1. To improve student comprehension of Shakespeare.
    1. To better understand how Shakespeare crafted his works and organized his plays.
    1. To enjoy Shakespeare’s use of language.
    1. To marvel at Shakespeare’s understanding of human nature.
    1. To interact with the texts on an academic level resulting in two research papers.
