About the course

This course consists of two modules of 16 weeks each. This course will aim to give the student a good foundation of Classical Hebrew or as we call it Biblical Hebrew. The student will also be able to read and pronounce any passage from the Hebrew Bible and translate using electronic or other helps. In this course, you will learn Biblical Hebrew grammar and syntax. You will have to commit to studying daily, as language acquisition takes time and self-discipline. The student will need to memorize a weekly list of words, and complete the required exercises in order to acquire the necessary vocabulary to read the Hebrew Bible. You will also be developing various grammatical skills. During this course you will learn to translate selected passages, read from the Hebrew Bible in class, and complete the required exercises that form part of your homework.
