Statement of Faith

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with two wonderful, loving Christian parents. It is hard for me even to remember a time when I was not saved. Throughout my childhood my family attended a Baptist church where I was able to take theology courses and listen to wonderful sermons. After I moved out of my family home I spent some time wandering from church to church without really settling into a church home.

Since we were married in 2016, my husband and I have started exploring Reformed Christianity. The pastor who officiated at our wedding is Anglican and seeing the great depth and richness of the liturgy, tradition, and theology left us yearning for more than the non-denominational churches we had been attending offered. We began attending a Reformed Baptist church and now attend Redeemer Community Church, a Reformed church in Loveland, Ohio. Through conversations with our pastor and other friends at church, as well as a great deal of reading and listening to sermons and debates, we are deepening our faith and understanding of Reformed theology. Learning more about God with my husband day-by-day is a truly wonderful experience.

I hold to the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed. I believe that the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and have final authority over faith and life. I believe in one God with three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that every person is completely alienated from God by sin. I believe that Jesus Christ became incarnate, fully man and fully God, lived a perfect life, died to take away the sins of the world, rose again to defeat death and the grave, and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. I believe in the work of the Holy Spirit for salvation, which is a gift from God. I believe that all believers are commanded to be part of a local church and to participate in two sacraments, Baptism and Communion.
